Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Nocturn collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built Nocturn to be simple, and we try to keep our data practices just as simple.
1. Information We Collect
When you create a Nocturn membership, we collect:
- Account information: your name, email address, and a password (stored securely, not in plain text).
- Membership activity: your drink credit balance, redemption history, and member code.
- Payment information: we do not store your card details. Payments are processed securely by Stripe, and Nocturn only receives confirmation that a payment was made.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your membership account
- To track and apply your weekly drink credits
- To verify your identity when you redeem a drink at a partner venue
- To communicate with you about your account, such as billing or support questions
- To improve Nocturn and understand how our membership is used
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Who We Share Information With
- Partner venues: when you redeem a drink credit, the venue's staff can see your name and credit balance to confirm your redemption. They do not receive your email, password, or payment details.
- Service providers: we use Stripe for payment processing and Supabase for secure data storage. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy and security standards.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Nocturn, our partners, or our members.
4. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including storing passwords in hashed (non-readable) form and using secure, encrypted connections for all data transmission. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your membership is active, and for a reasonable period after cancellation in case you wish to reactivate or for legitimate business and legal purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
6. Your Choices
- You can update your account information at any time by contacting us.
- You can cancel your membership at any time through Stripe or by contacting us.
- You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or request that we delete it, by emailing us.
7. Children's Privacy
Nocturn is intended only for individuals 21 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date above when changes are made. Continued use of Nocturn after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
